Double page spread thumbnails

This post shows 6 thumbnails of real media double page spreads
This thumbnail is taken from Mojo magazine which was published in December 2003. The magazine is from the United Kingdom. I mostly like the central image of this double page spread as it is a picture of a young Bob Dylan playing the guitar, and the picture is very inspiring for the audience.

This thumbnail is taken from Q and was published in 2011 in The United Kingdom. The double page spread is much more lively than Mojo as is has a lot more text and it is much more colorful. Also the name Nicki Minaj id in large bold text and it  stands out  as a headline and is really eye catching for the audience.

This was a thumbnail that I drew from the magazine vibe. It was published in June 2009 and is from The United States. This magazine is similar to Q as the headline reads the musicians name in large bold font. However it is less lively and doesnt have has much text.

This thumbnail is from NME and was published on 24th January 2004. This is the double page spread I took most inspiration from for my double page spread. This is because it was the magazine that best suited the genre of psychedelic rock as it has very vibrant colours and the font is very funky.

The final thumbnail was taken from an African magazine called arise. Most of the magazines I have drew a thumbnail from have been from either the UK or the US. This magazine is from a completely different place and culture. However even though it is from a different continent of the world it still has very similar codes and conventions to all the other real media magazines I have looked at. This suggests that magazines may be different in little ways, but overall most magazine have the same codes and conventions, even though they are from different country's or different years.

    • Now we just need to know a little more about why you created these thumbnails, what they mean, what inspired you to draw them?
    • Say what 'mags' they are from, era, codes & Conventions etc A little bit about each one underneath and why you dis/ like the style. Will tehy inspire or hav ethey inspired you in your actual magazine if so why?
