Is Paul Dead?

I'm a big fan of the Beatles and I think that is obvious being that my magazine front cover includes a tribute and central image of John Lennon. I've always been a big fan of the Beatles( which is unique for someone my age) because my dad really influenced me to listen to all of there albums, my favourite being the white album. For years I have always heard a lot of bizarre conspiracy's and one being that Paul McCartney died in 1966 and was secretly replaced by a look alike. I was on YouTube and was listening to the Beatles and I got carried away and ended up looking at clues to whether this conspiracy was true and this lead me to writing this blog.

It sounds stupid right? That anyone would believe this conspiracy. However this conspiracy is so believed that there is a Paul is dead Wikipedia page and its even got its own website, and even worse a magazine in 1969 was published which simply just discussed the rumour. Maybe the conspiracy is true, but how has this become such a big topic that the world has been discussing since 1969, in my opinion its just silly that people actually think Paul McCartney had a look alike who has the exact same singing and talking voice and can even play the exact same instruments. Would anyone really be able to replicate the great Paul McCartney, I mean... he's a musical genius!

There are many clues to the theory, especially on album covers. However, I think maybe the Beatles liked to play with the public just to get a little laugh. The Beatles didn't like all the attention from the public anyway and they certainly disagreed to the paparazzi twisting stories. This is evident in the song "Piggies" by George Harrison, which is aimed at the public and he describes how they like to "Play in the dirt". Harrison is referring to the paparazzi as the piggy who always play around just to get attention. This all gives me the feeling that the Beatles purposely put clues on there album to hit back at the paparazzi.

Now the clues on the album cover are actually quite intriguing and are actually believable, but clues that are claimed to be in the songs when played backwards are just ridiculous. Apparently When played numerous songs backwards things like Paul is gone, dead and lost are heard. I wanted to hear this for myself so I went on you tube and listen to "Blue Jay Way" reversed (this song being on the magical mystery tour album.) The song was in subtitles because it was impossible to make out what they were singing. According to this YouTube video, when playing the song backwards, it would say "Paul is blood... Paul is bloody". I listened to this video so many times and I could not make out what it was saying , it certainly did not say  "Paul is blood... Paul is bloody", it sounded more like a foreign person was singing and I really don't know how the person who made this video heard what he heard.

Personally I think this rumour is completely fake and that it is impossible for anyone to replace Paul McCartney. However in the future maybe just maybe this conspiracy is proven and I will look back at this blog and admit I was wrong, but do people really have to just make up clues just to get a bit of attention! Even if this conspiracy was true then the 'fake' Paul McCartney was just as good as the original Paul McCartney and he is one heck of a talented guy, I mean how can anyone be so perfectly in sync with another person its incredible, I thought everyone was different, but according to this conspiracy everyone is not and that is why I will never believe this conspiracy until it is truly proven.
