What is Media?

What is Media?

Media is a form of communication to provide information to a target audience through TV, magazines, newspapers etc. there are different ways to use media, such as informing specific codes and conventions to the target audience and entertain that audience, so that the target audience can understand certain types of platforms of the media text. Media can inform, persuade and influence people’s opinions and thoughts. Media can connect people through such sources as social networking (Twitter, Instagram and Facebook). Some web based platforms like Sky news show audio and video which can entertain the audience. Some print based sources like Wikipedia can be very biased because the public can go on the website and put the information in themselves meaning that Wikipedia id unreliable and some facts may not be the truth. Media technology has made communicating increasingly easier as time has passed throughout history. Today, children are encouraged to use media tools in school and are expected to have a general understanding of the various technologies available. The internet is arguably one of the most effective tools in media for communication. There are other useful tools like e-mail for example which has helped people communicate with eachother easier.

  1. I like the end paragraph which expands on points made in the original draft. You have a nice flow to the way you write. Feels to me like it finishes a little abrupt. Sometimes its good to end with in conclusion... and sum up main points. good solid C grade.
