Institution

Institution
I analysed two magazine front cover and both were different. One of the magazine I analysed was called ‘Mojo’ and the other was called ‘Classic Rock’.
Mojo
The music institution known as MOJO debuted in the form of a magazine on the news-stands of Britain in 1993.
Its inaugural cover story was an account of the complex relationship between Bob Dylan and John Lennon. There was general amazement that the age of soundbite culture should spawn a magazine that revelled in 16-page features of uncompromising quality. Ever since, it has revelled in the stories of music’s all-time greats and recommended new music of quality and integrity: the classics of now and tomorrow.
The rough idea, in the words of founding Editor Paul Du Noyer, was for something “that had the sensibilities of a fanzine and the design values of Vogue.” Its title was chosen as a homage to Delta blues mythology and as a reminder of the magic at the core of music.
MOJO has been online since 2001.
Classic Rock
Classic Rock is a British magazine dedicated to rock music, published by Team Rock, who are also responsible for its "sister" publications Metal Hammer and Prog magazine. Although firmly focusing on key bands from the 1960s through early 1990s, it also includes articles and reviews of contemporary and upcoming artists it deems worthy of note. Despite starting as an on-off project it has become one of the UK's bestselling music magazines. In September 2010 it published its 150th issue and now has a higher circulation than the NME.

Current owner Team Rock bought Metal Hammer and Classic Rock from Futurein 2013.

  1. Make sure you talk about what your decisions to go with one of these publishers is based on ( does your product fit with their brand identity? do you like the company values? etc.)
